我々は年頭に、昨年を「エネルギー革命元年」と定めると誓った。
我が国は、当時の鳩山由紀夫首相の基で、2009年国連総会会場において、「日本はCO2を1990年比25%削減する」と公約した。
我々は、自らの責任の基に、日本国家、国民の総力揚げての御支援体制を受け、また、世界の国々、人々からの熱い応援を賜り、CO2を2020年までに1970年時に回帰することを宣誓する。
We vowed in the beginning of this year that we could label last year as "the First Year of Energy Revolution".
Then prime minister of Japan, Yukio Hatoyama, committed himself to reach the target of a 25% reduction of CO2 emission in comparison with the level of 1990 at the UN General Assembly in 2009.
We take this remark to heart and act accordingly.
We vow on our own responsibility that we will reduce the emission of CO2 to the level in 1970s by the year 2020, receiving full support from Japanese government and its people as well as from other countries around the world.
